Match Of The Day

The BBC sport studio was a complicated install that required huge flexibility. This was achieved using 7 edge blended Christie projectors to create a continuous 22 metre curved screen and is controlled by a 10in/10out Spyder system. Magic worked very closely with the BBC to make sure that all requirements were met as the studio needed to be flexible enough to accommodate a variety of sports and in a tight space.

Since its installation, we have been responsible for maintaining the look and quality of the screen.

Strictly

Since its inception in 2004, Magic Visual Displays have been major video suppliers for Strictly. This has included floor video projection, waterfall projection for Take That, kabuki drops as well as providing all of the plasma and LCD requirements for the whole show.

Friday Night With Jonathan Ross

For 9 years, from its first to last show, Magic has supplied all of the video display requirements for the show. The infamous ‘Bubbles’ that everyone recognised were projected by Magic in a studio tight on space, high on ambient light and with a host of major stars milling around!

As well as the standard projections and plasmas that we supplied, specific projections were required on some shows, including the last ever show with Brian Ferry having 4 additional projected images around the stage. This requires flexibility and the ability to react in a positive and efficient way to any quick and last minute needs. Something we are used to in the world of television!
